Philippines: KC Concepcion And Mark Nicdao Raise Funds For Nepal Quake

One month after the devastating earthquake in Nepal, WFP Philippines National Ambassador Against Hunger KC Concepcion and renowned fashion photographer Mark Nicdao organized a photo exhibition to help raise funds for the World Food Programme’s (WFP) Nepal earthquake operations. Here are some of the photos during the two-day exhibit.

The two-day photo exhibit, dubbed as #KCxMN #PHxNEPAL, featured limited-edition photos in varying sizes which were sold to the public from 1-2 June at SM Megamall. (Photo: WFP/Faizza Tanggol)

The photos, which were taken during their mission to Nepal in 2012, showed the people and the regions of Nepal through the eyes of KC Concepcion and Mark Nicdao. KC, who has been WFP Philippines’ National Ambassador Against Hunger since 2008, goes on field missions to see WFP's work. Outside of the Philippines, she has visited WFP operations in Uganda in January 2011 and in Nepal in November 2012. For the past seven years, she has raised awareness and significant amount of resources for WFP operations in the Philippines through her online auction, KC’s Closet Fights Child Hunger, successful charity events and personal networks. “When Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) hit the Philippines, the whole world came to help us. This time, the women, children and families of Nepal need assistance after the earthquake. It is our chance to give back and provide urgently-needed aid. Mark and I would like to do our part to rebuild Nepal back to the beauty we remember it to be,” said KC. (Photo: WFP/Anthony Chase Lim)

During the first night, there was a short programme where a ceremonial toast was led by WFP Philippines Deputy Country Director Martin Bettelley, KC and Mark to express appreciation to everyone who came to support the photo exhibit. (Photo: WFP/Anthony Chase Lim)
