The world stands at a historic “tipping point” where the decisions taken by policy makers on hunger issues will have a critical impact on global peace and security, WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran said at the School of Advanced International Studies in Washington on Friday.

WASHINGTON -- The world stands at a historic “tipping point” where the decisions taken by policy makers on hunger issues will have a critical impact on global peace and security, WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran said in Washington on Friday.

Speaking at the School of Advanced International Studies, one of the top policy studies institutions in the United States, Sheeran stressed that fighting hunger is not just a critical humanitarian issue; it is also a fundamental foreign policy, peace and security issue.
