Central African Republic: Agility Essential For Agencies Working Amid Insecurity

Insecurity is the main obstacle to humanitarian operations in the Central African Republic right now, says WFP Regional Director Denise Brown. WFP and other aid agencies have to be flexible, seizing any available opportunity to get aid out to people displaced by the fighting. Simply getting staff to hunger hotspots is a challenge. That’s why WFP has boosted the number of flights run by the UN Humanitarian Air Service, which it manages on behalf of the entire humanitarian community.
