Humanitarian Convoys Reach Last Two Besieged Areas in Syria (For The Media)

WFP delivered food for the first time since 2012 to the besieged towns of Zamalka and Arbin, near Damascus, as part of a joint UN, ICRC and Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) convoy. With the successful completion of this convoy, the UN has now reached all 18 besieged areas in Syria. WFP continues to call for unconditional, unimpeded and sustained access to all people in need across Syria, including close to 600,000 people in 18 besieged locations because one-off, sporadic convoys cannot bring sustainable relief to families in need. There are approximately 5.47  million people in need in besieged and hard-to-reach areas in Syria including close to 600,000 people in besieged areas
