Multi-agency Impact Evaluation Window: Anticipatory Action

The multi-agency impact evaluation window on Anticipatory Action supports UN agencies and partners to generate evidence on what works in coordinated early action, helping to inform future programme design, scaling and investment.

Building on a growing body of research, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) are partnering to set up an impact evaluation window to strengthen the evidence on collective, multi-sectoral anticipatory action.

The window brings UN agencies and partners together to design, fund and learn from impact evaluations of coordinated anticipatory action. Its focus is how to act early well: when to act, whom to reach, which packages work and at what cost.

As outlined in the concept note, agencies can propose evaluations of their anticipatory action programmes and co-design them through the window, drawing on shared technical capacity and resources. The result will be comparable evidence across countries to inform how anticipatory action is designed, scaled and financed.
