The food basket cost is on the rise in the Syrian refugee camps in Türkiye (TRY 196 in June 2021). Despite the increase in transfer value from TRY 100 to TRY 120 in January 2021, beneficiaries struggle to meet their needs due to inflation.
The food basket cost increased from TRY 189 in March 2021 to TRY 196 in June 2021. Even though the agricultural season is an opportunity for in-camp refugees to generate some income, the lockdown due to pandemic in May affected their purchasing power negatively.
