WFP's Strategic Plan 2026-2029 reflects the organization’s commitment to eradicate hunger while adapting to an increasingly difficult environment. In the period 2026–2029, WFP will focus on what it does best: meeting urgent food and nutrition needs in fragile and emergency settings at scale.
WFP fosters greater integration between its emergency and resilience interventions to deliver a cohesive range of programmes that strengthen self-reliance, reduce near-term humanitarian needs and support local government capacities.
This strategic plan hence provides for three prioritized outcomes:
- Meeting urgent needs for people in crisis.
- Strengthening resilience to reduce future humanitarian assistance.
- Supporting governments to build or strengthen their own food security and nutrition programmes and in providing services to partners.
