A Statement of Thanks and Gratitude from The World Food Programme to Hend Sabry

CAIRO – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) extends its heartfelt gratitude to the prominent actress Hend Sabry for her unwavering support and dedication during her tenure as WFP’s Goodwill Ambassador for the past thirteen years.

As Hend Sabry transitions from her role as a Goodwill Ambassador, we commend her tireless efforts, passion, and staunch advocacy in furthering WFP's mission to eradicate hunger within our lifetimes.

Her proactive response to emergencies, notably in raising crucial funds during crises, has been truly inspiring. Throughout this year, Hend played a pivotal role in fundraising for the Syria-Turkey earthquakes, the devastating floods in Libya, and the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Her contributions have enabled WFP to provide timely assistance to those in dire need during critical periods.

Amidst the continuing crisis in Gaza, WFP remains steadfast in its efforts to support hungry and food insecure people around the world and in our aspiration to not leave one human hungry.

Despite the challenges that we face in our work, our commitment to reach those in need remains unwavering, operating according to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

WFP is committed to supporting the most vulnerable civilian Palestinians in Gaza and has been on the ground since the first day of the current emergency providing food through emergency ready-to-eat food, fresh bread, food parcels, and electronic vouchers.

Sabry stands as a towering figure in her commitment, support, and genuine advocacy among her peers. Her dedication to amplifying the voices of those who are unheard and championing the cause of the most vulnerable is unparalleled.

WFP extends its best wishes to Hend as she continues her endeavors in the realm of humanitarian work.
