
This factsheet provides an overview of WFP’s assistance to vulnerable Lebanese and refugees in Lebanon. WFP provides cash assistance to Syrian refugees and conflict-affected Lebanese, in-kind food assistance to vulnerable Lebanese and emergency food support including in-kind and hot meals to conflict-affected Lebanese and newly arrived Syrians. As part of its commitment to support the Government in strengthening national safety nets, WFP provides technical assistance for Lebanon’s social protection system and supports the implementation of the World Bank-funded Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN). WFP’s school meals programme reaches vulnerable children with locally sourced nutritious food, supporting both education and local economies. WFP helps refugees and Lebanese improve their livelihoods through Food Assistance for Assets and Food Assistance for Training activities and supports enhanced resilience of the food system against current and future shocks.
