The World Food Programme in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) conducted a study on Disaster Resilient Villages (Kampung Siaga Bencana/KSB). The KSB is a flagship programme of MoSA on disaster management, and this study was designed to further strengthen the programme through recognising challenges and identifying best practices and lessons learned.

The need to strengthen community-based risk management is particularly relevant in Indonesia given their geographical location and susceptibility to natural disasters. This study is part of WFP’s technical assistance on emergency preparedness and response.
