One year ago, the World Food Programme (WFP) suffered the devastating loss of eight of our dear friends and colleagues who were on board Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302.

This tragedy, which claimed the lives of Ekta Adhikari, Maria Pilar Buzzetti, Virginia Chimenti, Harina Hafitz, Zhen-Zhen Huang, Mick Ryan, Djordje Vdovic and Victor Tsang, marked one of WFP's darkest days.

The commitment of all the dedicated WFP staff who lost their lives in the service of humanity remains an inspiration for us to work harder, stretch ourselves further and do even better for the people we serve. This is their legacy, and through our efforts we will ensure our lost colleagues are never forgotten.
