WFP MALI REGIONAL CRISIS SITUATION REPORT #8, 06 NOVEMBER 2015

Highlights

  • In Mali, during the month of September, despite ongoing tensions in the northern regions of Mali, WFP managed to reach 291,000 beneficiaries with food assistance; reaching 95 percent of planned beneficiaries.
  • In Burkina Faso, despite the coup d'état in September, WFP managed to reach 48,000 people, achieving 96 percent of the monthly target.
  • In Niger, food assistance to Malian refugees in the camps and refugee hosting sites reached 47,000 Malian refugees.
  • In Mauritania, preliminary findings of the August Joint Assessment Mission (JAM) conducted by UNHCR and WFP, in collaboration with partners, at the Mberra site and host community, revealed that refugees continue to be highly dependent on food assistance, and that past disruptions have led to a deterioration in their food security and nutritional status.
