In 2024, WFP assisted around 21.5 million food-insecure people across the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Eastern Europe region, achieving 82 percent of its annual target - a drop of nearly half compared to 2023 actual beneficiaries with many receiving reduced rations. In 2025, WFP aims to assist 24.9 million people, 5 percent below than the 2024 annual target.

- WFP assisted 3.7 million refugees across the region, exceeding its 2024 target of 2.5 million.

- Acute food insecurity remains severe across the region, with 40 million people in IPC Phase 3 or above (crisis or worse). The region is projected to continue to face high levels of acute food insecurity in 2025.

- The region's needs-based plan was revised during the year from USD 7.1 billion to USD 5.6 billion, with a funding level of 73 percent. In 2024, 61 percent of contributions were earmarked at the activity level, with only 5 percent being fully flexible.
