The 25 April earthquake and subsequent aftershocks destroyed transport infrastructure for already very remote communities in Nepal. In order to reach the remotest, most affected people, WFP employed porters and operators of pack animals to deliver food, shelter and health kits and medical supplies to areas located far above the altitude accessible by roads & helicopters.
