- Insecurity continues to impede WFP’s ability to reach populations with food assistance. This week, a planned mission to Mayendit county (Unity state) was cancelled because of a lack of security assurances. Moreover, as a result of fighting in Western Equatoria in the past weeks, WFP-contracted transporters are reluctant to restart deliveries along the Juba—Rumbek road. Regardless, WFP continues to take advantage of windows of opportunity to reach populations isolated by the crisis. https://www.wfp.org/stories/south-sudan-wfp-providing-emergency-food-isolated-locations-cut-humanitarian-assistance
