- Ongoing assessments in Juba and across the country. Data collection for the July Food Security and Nutrition Monitoring System (FSNMS, round 16) has been completed in the majority of states, expect Central Equatoria and parts of central and northern Upper Nile state. Collection began in Central Equatoria today and will start in Upper Nile as soon as access is granted and aircraft is available. Similarly, the Emergency Food Security Assessments for Unity (where the FSNMS cannot be conducted due to security constraints) are still pending and facing significant challenges for completion. Data cleaning in ongoing and analysis is expected to begin next week. In addition, WFP is conducting household visits 13-22 August as part of its data collection for the Juba Urban Vulnerability study.
- Consultations with Cooperating Partners on the future of the Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO). Over the next two weeks, WFP will hold consultative meetings with Cooperating Partners in Wau, Rumbek, Aweil, Torit and Abyei on the 2016 activities of its PRRO. This operation, which is set to end December 2015, will be extended another year, focusing on the seven ‘non-conflict’ states.
