Highlights

  • WFP and UNICEF deployed an emergency mobile relief team to Wau Shilluk. For the first time in months, the aid agencies were able to reach the Upper Nile location. Thousands of people have been fleeing Wau Shilluk to seek assistance in the Malakal Protection of Civilian site.   • Airdrops and airlifts for Malakal, Maban and Bentiu. Airlifts are ongoing for 200 mt of cereals from Juba to Malakal to manage shortfalls for September. For September distributions to the Maban refugee caseload, WFP is planning to airlift 120 mt of oil and airdrop 200 mt of pulses. Next week, airdrops of 600 mt of cereals will begin to Bentiu to cater to the increasing number of IDPs inside the PoC.
