The Q1 Market Bulletin has shown that the Minimum Expenditure Basket costs TRY 576 per person, representing an increase by 4 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the Q1 Market Bulletin, the cost of the Minimum Expenditure Basket rose to TRY 576 between January and March 2021, indicating a 14 percent increase from March 2020. While the inflation rate stood at 16.2 percent, the food inflation was actualized at 17.4 percent, leading to a decrease in the purchasing power during the reporting period. Also, these figures revealed an increase of the cost of living, especially in the south-eastern and eastern regions.
