In March and April 2022, WFP interviewed over 4,700 Ukrainians to understand more about their levels of food insecurity. This report details the results of this assessment.
Conflict is driving hunger in nearly all the world’s main food crises. War leads to greater food insecurity. And, in its turn, food insecurity increases the chances of unrest and violence.
Widespread insecurity has left 7.7 million people severely hungry. Villages have been destroyed,
successive harvests have been missed, areas of relative calm have descended into bloodshed,
while refugees stream into neighbouring countries.
