Ethiopia, Urban HIV/AIDS, Nutrition and Food Security: an evaluation
The decentralized evaluation has been commissioned by WFP Ethiopia Country Office and covers the USAID/PEPFAR funded ‘Urban HIV/AIDS, Nutrition and Food Security Project in Ethiopia 2011-2017’.

It was intended for both accountability and learning and focuses on assessing: i) the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, sustainability and coherence of the project; ii) its results; and iii) the factors explaining the results.

The evaluation assessed the following activities: a) assessment, counselling and support (Nutrition assessment and Counselling Service); b) food assistance for orphans and vulnerable children; c) nutrition interventions in prevention/eradication of mother to child transmission services; d) improving food security and livelihood at household level (economic strengthening); e) strategic information generation and other crosscutting actions related to gender protection and accountability, partnership, monitoring and evaluation.

The evaluation, which makes a number of recommendations for the future, was managed by Dawit Belew Public Health Consulting, with fieldwork taking place in April/May 2017.
