The R4 Rural Resilience Initiative (R4) is a strategic partnership between Oxfam America (OA) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP). R4 was initiated in 2011 to respond to the challenges faced by food-insecure communities enduring increasingly frequent and intense climate disasters and other shocks. During this quarter, R4 farmers in Ethiopia and Senegal focused on the creation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) assets, such as gully treatment and soil bunds as part of the Insurance for Assets (IFA) scheme. In southern Africa, a total of 5,281 vulnerable farmers were registered in the program, exceeding the set target of 5,000. This report presents the R4 Senegal impact evaluation.
