Smallholder farmers often lack the skills and the knowledge to trade effectively, yet most are fully dependent on their farms for income. Through the Market Access programme, WFP in Kenya is training farmers in marketing agricultural commodities, mainly grains, connecting smallholder farmers to markets, and supporting the economic empowerment of women and men.
